What does a UTM tag do?

  • It adds a few words to the end of your link. Google Analytics reads them and shows which app, post and campaign sent the visit.

Where do I put a UTM link on Instagram?

  • In your bio. Links in an Instagram caption do not click.
  • On Threads, Facebook and Bluesky, links in the post work.

Will a long UTM link use up my X post?

  • No. X counts every link as 23 characters, however long it is.
  • Posting through sprkly? A post with a link uses 1 of your 10 link posts a month on that X account.
