How to post to social media from Meta's Muse

Muse is Meta's AI agent. You can ask it to add a custom connector. Point it at sprkly with a sprkly API key. Then it may be able to schedule your posts. Muse is rolling out in the US only, on iOS, Android and muse.ai.

Why connect them

  • Plan posts from an app you already chat in.
  • One ask can reach Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Facebook and Bluesky. X too, on Creator and Power.
  • Every post lands in your sprkly queue, so you see it on your calendar.

What you need

  • Muse, in the US.
  • A sprkly Creator or Power plan, or the 7-day free trial. The Free plan does not include it.
  • Your social accounts connected in sprkly Settings.
  • A sprkly API key. Step 1 makes one.

Step 1: make a sprkly API key

  1. Sign in at sprkly.app and open Settings.
  2. Find the AI agents & API card and click Generate key.
  3. Give the key a name, like "Muse".
  4. Leave "Let this key read your DMs and comments and reply" unticked, unless you want Muse to work your inbox.
  5. Click Generate and copy the key. It is shown only once.

Step 2: ask Muse to add sprkly

Muse keeps its built-in connectors in Settings, then Connectors. You add sprkly a different way: you ask.

  1. Open a chat with Muse.
  2. Say this, with your key in place of <key>:
Create a custom connector for sprkly. The server address is https://sprkly.app/api/mcp. It uses an API key, sent as the header Authorization: Bearer <key>
  1. Muse guides you from there. If it asks for API details, give it the address and the key.
  2. When it is done, ask "What do I have scheduled this week?" to check it works.

For developers: Muse Code

Muse Code is Meta's coding agent. It takes remote MCP servers and can sign you in, so you do not need a key. Add sprkly to the mcp_servers block in your Muse Code settings.json:

{
  "mcp_servers": {
    "sprkly": { "transport": "streamable_http", "url": "https://sprkly.app/api/mcp" }
  }
}

Then run this, sign in to sprkly in the browser, and approve:

muse mcp login sprkly

Meta's page names these fields but shows no full example for a remote server. Check it against their docs.

What to say to it

  • "What do I have scheduled this week?"
  • "Post this photo to Instagram and Facebook on Saturday at 10am."
  • "Which of my posts did best last month?"

Good to know

  • In the Muse app it connects with an API key, not a sprkly sign-in. Muse Code can sign in instead, as shown above. Anyone with the key can post as you, so keep it private.
  • If a key leaks, revoke it in sprkly Settings and make a new one.
  • It works on Creator, Power and the 7-day trial. Not on Free.
  • Muse posts only to accounts you connected in sprkly.
  • Meta does not review custom connectors. sprkly does only what your key allows.
  • Meta's help page does not say whether Muse speaks MCP, the standard sprkly uses.
  • We wrote these steps from Meta's docs and have not run them ourselves yet. If a step looks different for you, tell us.

FAQ

Can I use Muse outside the US?

Not yet. Meta is rolling Muse out in the US.

Can Muse read my DMs?

Only if you ticked the inbox box when you made the key. A key without it cannot read DMs.

What does sprkly cost?

Creator is US$4.50 an account a month. Power is US$9. One account is one handle on one platform.

Do it in sprkly: Make an API key in Settings, then paste the message from Step 2 into Muse.
