Because it missed one of Facebook's Reel rules, so sprkly posted it to your Page feed instead. A Facebook Reel must be vertical 9:16, 3 to 90 seconds long, and at least 540 x 960 pixels.
Why sprkly does this
- Facebook will take a Reel in the wrong shape and publish a dead Reel.
- A normal Page video still reaches your Page.
- So sprkly only sends a Reel when it can confirm all three rules.
- If sprkly cannot read the video's size or length, it also goes to the feed. That is the safe side.
The Reel checklist
- Shape: 9:16, vertical. A little off is fine, about 5%.
- Length: at least 3 seconds and no more than 90.
- Size: at least 540 wide and 960 tall. 1080 x 1920 is the usual pick.
- File: MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio is the safest.
How to fix it
- Check which rule it missed: shape, length or size.
- Over 90 seconds? Trim it. Nothing else can fix length.
- Wrong shape? Re-export at 9:16.
- Schedule it again as a new post.
Before you schedule
- Compose has a shape guide for each platform.
- For a video that is not 9:16, it marks Facebook "Feed, not Reels".
- When a video does not match the shape you picked, Compose opens a crop tool so you can frame it at 9:16.
Does this happen on Instagram too?
- No. Instagram takes many shapes and shows bars around a video that is not 9:16.
- YouTube has its own rule: a wide video is never a Short.
Do it in sprkly: In Compose, choose 9:16, upload your clip, frame the crop if it opens, and keep it under 90 seconds. Facebook then gets a Reel.
