Because Instagram connections expire, and sometimes get cut off before they do. sprkly renews them on its own. When only you can fix it, sprkly emails you and the fix is one click in Settings.
What sprkly already does
- An Instagram connection lasts 60 days.
- sprkly renews it on its own in the last week before it runs out.
- Most of the time you never see any of this.
When you have to step in
- Instagram can still sign sprkly out early. When it does, only you can sign back in.
- Removing sprkly in Instagram, under Settings, then Apps and websites, cuts the connection too.
- If a post fails because the connection ran out, sprkly emails you. The subject says "Reconnect your Instagram account".
- Your dashboard also shows a Reconnect alert.
How to fix it
- Open Settings.
- Find the Instagram account and click Reconnect.
- Sign in to Instagram and approve.
- Open the post that failed and pick a new time.
It takes about ten seconds. Nothing is lost. The post is still saved.
A reconnect that is worth doing anyway
- Settings may show Reconnect on an account that works fine.
- That gives sprkly new Instagram permissions, like insights.
- After it, your Analytics page can show reach and views, not just likes and comments.
TikTok works the same way
- TikTok connections renew in the background too.
- If TikTok cannot renew one, sprkly emails you "Reconnect your TikTok account".
- Scheduled TikTok posts wait until you reconnect.
What not to do
- Do not disconnect and connect again as a fix. Reconnect is the button you want.
- Do not post the failed post by hand and also reschedule it. Pick one, or it goes out twice.
Do it in sprkly: Open Settings, click Reconnect next to Instagram, sign in, then reschedule anything that failed.
