You can schedule Instagram Reels to publish automatically — here's the full process from file to feed.
Before you start
- Your Instagram account must be a Business or Creator account (switch in the Instagram app under Settings → Account type).
- Connect it in Settings. Instagram is currently in whitelist mode while Meta reviews Sprkly — email support and we'll enable you within a day. See How do I connect my social accounts?.
Prepare the video
- Format: MP4 (H.264) is the most reliable.
- Aspect ratio: vertical 9:16 (1080×1920). Horizontal video won't get the full Reels treatment.
- Length: keep it punchy — most Reels perform best well under 90 seconds.
More detail: Supported media formats and sizes.
Schedule it
- Open Compose and select your Instagram account.
- Upload the vertical video — it publishes as a Reel.
- Write your caption (save it as a Quick Caption if you'll reuse the style).
- Pick a time — see Best times to post — and hit Schedule.
Sprkly publishes at the chosen minute and retries automatically if the platform hiccups. Track everything on the Schedule calendar. If a post ever fails, here's why posts fail and what happens next.
